Combined data for early action
Any decrease in activity combined with a drop in milk production, feed intake and weight, provides early indication of health problems. With ALPRO, you can view key data on its own, or combine data to quickly identify cows with health issues. Given a health warning or low activity alert you can flag the cow for sorting via the milking point controller and automatic sort gates, or sort manually.
Monitor milk yield
Milk yields are the fastest detector of health problems in fresh cows. A drop in milk yield is usually the first sign of mastitis, metabolic problems and other disorders. With ALPRO monitoring milk yield any decline greater than a yield level you set, is indicated immediately in the parlour. Your operators can take instant action to sort a cow for health checks.
Milk quality and udder health
Monitoring udder health protects milk quality. DeLaval cell counter DCC is valuable for improving milk quality and udder health. ALPRO enables you to monitor somatic cell count (SCC) for each cow and the bulk tank milk. You can track SCC levels in your herd; identify, treat and follow up cows with mastitis; sample all cows before dry-off and give selected cows dry-cow therapy; follow up fresh cows; screen cows at purchase or sale to avoid spreading mastitis. DeLaval DCC database combined with ALPRO simplifies data handling.
Monitor body weight
DeLaval automatic weigh system AWS100 is an ALPRO integrated walk-over scale. By combining weight data with milk yield and lactation phase, ALPRO can establish the normal weight curve for every cow and alert you to any deviations.

Any disease, with treatment and duration, can be recorded in ALPRO™ Windows®, giving you health trends for each individual cow, and the herd as a whole.
