Product Specialist – Cow Comfort

As Product Specialist you will have an important role in providing our customers with efficient solutions for dairy cows as well as supporting the Portfolio to optimize its market position, assortment and financial return across the product life cycle. The Product Specialist will work closely with external suppliers as well as other DeLaval entities globally, e.g. Sales Companies and LSOs, Global Purchasing and Central Marketing. International travelling is required. The Product Specialist reports directly to the Product Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Project management of R&D and maintenance projects, responsible for planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of the project
  • Product management tasks, i.e. investigating new product opportunities and their feasibility and define, develop, launch and maintain the products across their life cycle
  • Responsible for quality, technical support, query handling and performance follow-up with focus on customer satisfaction
  • Analyse the market and identify industry trends through competitive analysis, customer analysis, focus groups and other secondary sources
  • Marketing and product positioning with different segments of the sales and marketing channel as well as the marketing mix
  • Developing and implementing both sales and technical training packages
  • Provide daily business support to sales organisations

Qualification

  • University degree in Agriculture or equivalent
  • Technical understanding due to the speciality of the equipment
  • Fluent in English – written and spoken
  • Knowledge and skills
  • Passion for dairy farming and good understanding of animal husbandry
  • Organizational, project management and planning skills
  • Hands on experience in Marketing and sales, as well as business sense
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact in cross - functional as well as cross - cultural teams
